An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that the boy accidentally slipped into the river and drowned. Locals retrieved him from the water and rushed him to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Bijbehara. He said doctors declared him brought dead at the hospital. The deceased has been identified as Hazim Showkat, son of Showkat Ahmad Ganie and a resident of Hassanpora Bagh, Kulgam.
